Night Group PowerPoint Presentation Requirements You will be reading about the events that took place in the life of one teen-aged boy, Elie Wiesel. The setting for the autobiographical sketch is Europe in the years between 1941 and 1945. In order to better understand the terrible things that happened to him and millions of other people, you must first understand what the world was like at that time. To better acquire this knowledge, you and two of your classmates will be presenting information about this time period and its events. Your group will then, present this information in a PowerPoint presentation for the class. I have outlined the requirements for this project below. Also, along the way you will learn new research skills and put them into practice, here in this presentation. Finally, I will be here to guide you every step of the way; so, have fun and learn something too! Getting Ready for the Presentation: * Choose a topic. What is your topic? ____________________________________________________ * On a separate sheet of paper (with a proper heading) list ten questions you have about your topic. Be sure to leave about 5 - 10 lines between questions so you have room to write the answers when you find them. * Go to the library and do a search on your topic. Write down all interesting websites and references for future use. Try to find answers to the ten questions you have already written down. * Each group member needs to copy one article from the internet that deals with their group's topic and complete the nonfiction reading assignment sheet (attached to this packet). The reading assignment sheet will be due at the end of the presentation. * Decide as a group how to best present the information on PowerPoint. Presenting Your Information - PowerPoint Style: * Your presentation must be at least ten slides. * You must begin your presentation with an introduction slide that includes your topic and group names. * You must have a works sited slide. Grading: * I will be looking for information presented. Presentation is important; but facts should never be sacrificed for "how pretty your presentation looks." * Therefore, you will be graded on the following: * Composition: Presentation contains facts on the topic. The presentation is thorough and complete. * Style: The facts are presented in a clear, inviting way. Slides are not too busy or too plain. * Mechanics: Few errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation. * Works -Cited: Bibliography is correct and includes all the sources used in the presentation.
