Media Madness Assignment Ms. G. Wotherspoon This assignment has been developed so that students can explore Shakespeare's play in an interesting and fun way. It also gives students a chance to work in groups on something that will challenge them in both organizational and social skills. This assignment is challenging, but students found it very helpful in assisting them in gaining a better understanding of the play. The assignment can be adapted to any of Shakespeare's plays. Each group must pick one project to develop and use one of the themes presented that is related to the play. How students develop their project, what they use to create it and how they work together are as important as the final product. They also have a peer assessment form to fill in. I have found that giving students time in class to work on parts of their assignment is a good way for me to assess how they are working together. Marks are based on the criteria listed in the rubric, but you could add additional points depending on what you want to use for additional assessment. Please feel free to use the package and adapt it to your needs. Media Madness Assignment Ms. G. Wotherspoon TOPIC: Shakespeare - Romeo and Juliet BASIC RULES: 1. Students will be divided into groups.
