American Literature Student Declaration This is a persuasive document to persuade faculty and administration to listen and take action in regards to your complaints. Your declaration must be in format similar to the Declaration of Independence and follow persuasive technique. Content Requirements:  You must include the following content requirements and underline them in your declaration:    * Repetition: repeating a word/concept a minimum of three times in      your declaration. 5    * Parallelism: repeating phrasing that must be used at least on time      in your document. 5    * Rhetorical question: you must have a minimum of one. 5    * Two of the three appeals: logical, emotional, ethical. 10    * Elevated language: your document should have at least three      elevated words. 5    * You must also have at least three complaints that you discuss.    * Have a conclusion that summarizes with a call to action (use the      format box on page 260). Format is 20 points. Typing Requirements:  This document must be typed and you can receive 5 extra credit points for aging the document. CP requirements:  You must follow the requirements listed and use the following:   * An allusion: your allusion can be historical, biblical, from      literature, or a current event. 10    * Two forms of figurative language: simile, metaphor, hyperbole, and      personification. 10    * An example of connotation and denotation: the literal meaning and      the extended or emotional meaning to a word. 10 The due date for the student declaration is Nov. 15 with possibly a short presentation.
